Digital TV set up – get it right with trusted aerial installers..

December 31, 2010 by Mary Smith

Thanks to digital technology we can now receive more TV channels than ever before. Without having to pay extra for them. Of course some premium channels and content remain – like movies and sport, but the basic freeview package has grown steadily and now incorporates a wide range of channels. So thanks to digital TV aerials you don’t just have to watch five TV channels any more. All that extra choice can only be a good thing.

While you are sat there enjoying your new channels, have you ever stopped to wonder how digital TV aerials actually work. Signals come from your local transmitter. Older style analogue signals transmit one channel onto one carrier. With digital the bandwidth is expanded beyond all recognition. Far more data can be squeezed in – in fact eight times as much onto the same amount of space. Hence more channels and radio too. Have you noticed yet that you get radio stations to listen to as well through your TV? It’s great isn’t it.

The box you have at home – the receiver. It turns the signals from the transmitter into pictures and sound. What it can also do is correct any errors in the data it is receiving. This is why the picture on digital is usually so much better. Perfect in fact. In order for all this to work, you need the right aerial. Only use good equipment and get  professional aerial installers to set it up for you. If you don’t use a qualified engineer it could all go horribly wrong. So you won’t be enjoying crystal clear pictures on that lovely new 40 inch plasma screen you just bought yourself.

Aerial installers with the right skills and qualifications are easy to spot. They are members of the confederation of aerial industries members. They should also be able to provide you with client testimonials that you can verify.
