Holiday Parks

November 16, 2012 by James Lewis

Even in the modern world holiday parks are extremely popular. They are ideal holiday locations for all kinds of people. However, families especially these parks.

What Modern Holiday Parks Have to Offer

Gone are the days when staying on a holiday park meant staying in draughty chalets and eating canteen food. Today, most parks offer you a range of accommodation options.

The standard of accommodation is usually top-notch. Chalets are still the most popular accommodation; however, nowadays they are designed to be more like a home from home than a large garden shed with beds. Most have kitchen facilities to allow you to cook your own food should you wish to do so. For those times when you want to relax completely the best holiday parks have a good range of on-site bars, restaurants and cafes all of which serve food. Many also have some form of takeaway service and a small supermarket on site.

The majority of holiday parks are located close to public amenities. The best ones are right on the beach and are usually only a short distance from town. The majority of towns located close to these parks know the value of the tourist pound, therefore, good public transport from the site to the town is normally available as well.

Holiday Park entertainment

Holiday parks have always offered great entertainment. This is a tradition that has continued with modern holiday sites.

Whilst there is far less traditional on-site entertainment than there once was most sites do provide some sort of variety show or live entertainment. In addition, they often provide modern sports facilities such as tennis courts, football pitches and bowls as well as the opportunity to enjoy other outdoor activities. The majority also have plenty of indoor entertainment including things like kids clubs, arcades and of course, most sites now provide you with internet access.

On-site spas are also becoming more commonplace. Every age group is catered for when it comes to entertainment. Most of the entertainment facilities are under a roof, which enables the holiday park to stretch their season and keep their site open beyond just the summer months.
