How to make your own electronic cigarette vapor liquid?

Electronic cigarettes deliver a dose of nicotine to the user by vaporizing liquid as the smoker inhales. E-cigarettes basically consist of a rechargeable battery and logic board, an atomizer or heating element and a mouthpiece that contains a sponge-type substance that holds the liquid that is vaporized. Commercial liquid is sold in many flavors and nicotine strengths, but some electronic cigarette users make their own by mixing the ingredients at home. Many of the ingredients can be found at a local pharmacy. Only the commercial nicotine liquid can be bought from a specialty retailer.

Firstly, 130 mL of vegetable glycerin is drawn into the syringe and deposit it in the dropper bottle. Propylene glycerin can be used instead of vegetable glycerin in case it is available. Vegetable glycerin-based liquids cause electronic cigarettes to generate more vapor than propylene glycerin-based liquids.

30 mL of water is measured into the oral syringe and it is then added to the dropper bottle. Vegetable glycerin has a high viscosity and needs to be mixed with other liquids to be used in an e-cigarette. The bottle is capped and shaking of the bottle is done in order to mix the liquids. 40 mL of nicotine liquid is then added to the bottle.

The bottle is capped again and shaked vigorously to mix the liquids. The recommended drops can now be applied to the cartridge.

In the above given mixture, the nicotine accounts for 29 percent of the overall contents of the formula. Nicotine levels should not exceed 33 percent of any one mixture. It is not necessary for the e-cigarette refill liquid to contain nicotine. For flavored vapor, the nicotine liquid is replaced and is then mixed with the flavored liquid from an electronic cigarette retailer.

Cleaning an electronic cigarette

Electronic cigarette is an alternative to smoking tobacco, and is not necessarily an aid to stop smoking. They serve as a healthier and safer alternative to the usual tobacco cigarettes, as they contain less chemicals and carcinogens and have none of the risks of secondhand smoke. Most of the electronic cigarettes are reusable. And hence it becomes very important for one to clean the cigs from time to time. Here is an easy method to help you clean your e-cigarette.

A lint-free cloth is used to clean the area that connects the battery to the atomizer. Water or cleaning fluids of any kind should not be used. You must be sure that there are no particles from the cloth left behind, as they may be accidentally introduced to the heating-coil housing.

Any liquid buildup that may have seeped from the cartridge to the atomizer is drained out. There are three ways of do this. First, the mouthpiece is removed, leaving the battery attached. Air is gently blown into the battery at the LED end to activate the battery. This basically, causes any liquid to be vaporized, because it results in heating of the atomizer.

Excess liquid, if any, is drained, by first removing the battery and mouthpiece. Then air is blown into the hole where the battery connects to the atomizer. The atomizer is tapped very lightly onto a cloth after every third breath. Keep doing this until you do not hear any gurgling sounds. Then the atomizer is made to stand on a clean cloth to drain any additional liquid.

The liquid is drained overnight by disassembling the unit. The atomizer is placed on a clean cloth and is left there to drain. You should make sure that the battery connection side is facing up.
