Waiting on royal wedding invitations?

December 30, 2010 by Mary Smith

The wedding invitations of a certain Prince William and Kate Middleton will be something of gold dust, when a date is set for the big day next year.

Wedding invitations will undoubtedly be sent to the Royal family and close university friends from St Andrews. However, some of Kate Middleton’s extended family have said they will not be holding their breath waiting on their wedding invitations to come through the letter box.

According to an article recently published in The Telegraph, Kate comes from a family that can boast miners and builders as among her ancestry.

However, as the paper has suggested, as a result of a family feud that stems back many years, a number of relatives are unlikely to be invited to the wedding of the decade.

Kate’s mother, Carole has not spoken to some relatives for some time and that is why one of them has told the paper there was “no chance” of them being invited to the wedding.

The relative, who did not wish to be named, said: “We’re the rough and tumble side- we’re the workers.

“We know we won’t be invited to the wedding, but it’s not Carole’s fault. Her parents fell out with the rest of the family when she was young.”

This relative claims that the feud stems back to 1978 when Carole’s builder father, Ron Goldsmith fell out with his sister Alice Tomlinson.

The source now believes all the relatives will be left to watch the wedding on the television rather than being invited to the event, which is expected to be watched by millions around the world.

The date and location of the royal wedding has still not been revealed, however earlier this week Kate Middleton was seen exiting Westminster Abbey through a side exit.  More details are due to be released over the coming weeks.
