There’s more to life than skinny jeans

May 18, 2010 by Mary Smith Leave a Comment

Skinny jeans have been hugging the fashion headlines for months, if not years. Many women therefore think they ought to wear skinny jeans because it has become de rigueur. But there are other jeans styles out there that do not require contorting our bodies into strange shapes to merely get into them.

There are tons of styles available that look good on women, no matter what their body shape is. It makes sense to go for jeans from companies such as the ones from NYDJ Jeans that do not come in skinny.

Bootcut jeans

These jeans are possibly the most flattering to any body shape: they put all the attention on the lower half of the legs and deflect attention from the trouble spots – hips and thighs. These jeans are the best for pear shapes.

Low waist jeans

These jeans could be flattering to most body types as long as they do not veer towards the extreme. For that reason it may be better to wear medium rise jeans.

Straight leg jeans

A straight leg jean is another flattering cut, no matter what your body shape may be. The jeans has one width all over and works especially well for women who are curvy.

Capri jeans

Capri pants fit under the knee and could be either straight or wide-leg pants. They can be very flattering and they can look good dressed up or more casual.

Bell-bottom jeans

The only difference between bell-bottom pants and regular straight-legged jeans is that the former widens under the knee. It makes a shape reminiscent of a bell, which is why we call them bell-bottoms. Don’t wear these jeans too tight. Go for something that fits a bit more loosely.

Denim shorts

Though short denim shorts do not flatter all figures and look good mostly on slender women, there are still many versions that regular women with regular figures can wear with confidence. They’re ideal for wearing to the beach during summer.
