Designs for women who are vase shaped

October 31, 2010 by Mary Smith

Most of us know what the hourglass shape looks like but not many of us know what a vase shaped woman looks like. These women share the basic shape of an hourglass but there is one main difference: their arms and busts are generally heavier and their waists and hips are generally much wider than their thighs. Their tummies are also much flatter than that of the hourglass.

While few of us even knew these figures existed, it is also true that even fewer of us know which designs vase-shaped women should wear.

So these bodies are generally just an hourglass with a few modifications. How, then, should women who have this body shape dress? Should they follow the advice that beauty and fashion magazines dish out to hourglass shapes and just modify it slightly? Or should they disregard that advice, and instead, look for advice that is specific to their bodies?

The answer may be in the second assumption that we made: find advice that targets your body shape because there will then be no need to modify it to suit you better. You will feel wonderful no matter what you’re wearing and this will translate into greater confidence that you can use to tackle everything anyone throws at you.

Wrap dresses

It is true that wrap dresses look good on nearly any figure but it is especially true for vase-shaped figures. The dresses hug the curves and flatters women with large breasts especially well.

V-shaped necklines

This type of neckline is one of the most sensible designs for vase shaped women. It helps to create the illusion of smaller breasts.

Pencil-cut skirts

These skirts emphasise the bottom half so it makes sense to wear such skirts if you wish to draw the attention away from the upper portion of your body.

Straight leg jeans

This can also apply to regular pants. Try to stay away from skinny pants. There are many other designs for vase-shaped women that you can try out, one of which is pants that are straight-legged.
