Benefits of using a document translation company

August 19, 2011 by Nick Bella

It is fast becoming apparent that more and more businesses are not only expanding, but moving abroad. Whether a company decided to move location and set up in a foreign country or are escalating the size of their organisation by targeting alternative markets, there can be many complications and things to think about. This also applies to trade abroad even when located in this country such as importing and exporting goods and materials. One of the most fundamental aspects for success in another country is communication. Without this a business or company is destined to fail. Employing staff that are fluent in the local language is obviously the best way for clients and customers to interact with your business but what about important paperwork. When setting up in another country with a different language to your own, completing the necessary paperwork and documentation can be a real challenge. Many people rely on employing freelance language translators but these can prove inefficient and lack the standard of quality required. This is especially detrimental when dealing with legal documents that need to be one hundred percent accurate. This is why it is not surprising how more organisations, that extend their business abroad, turn to professional translation companies.

These companies offer quality proofreading and editing to ensure you receive mistake free, superb quality documents that can be used instantly. The number of language translators they employ, who are usually all native speakers, allows a fast turnaround to help you complete your own business in fast time frames. With most favouring online transactions for payments and delivery methods this process is made even quicker. They can provide document translation services on projects containing merely a single page or projects spanning many files. The service they provide often outweighs the cost when increasing efficiency and productivity so dramatically.

Online psychometric tests can find the most ‘creative’ candidates

August 17, 2011 by Nick Bella

For those applying for jobs in the creative industries, be warned- employers are now using online psychometric tests to gauge that you are as ‘creative’ as your CV has implied.

This new form of psychometric test has been developed by an Australian psychologist called Dr Amantha Imber who has produced the test alongside global organisation, Kimberly Clark.

Designed to test a candidate’s creative skills, the psychometric test will be able to measure how innovative and inventive the candidate is when faced with certain situations or questions.

Called the Inventium Creative Aptitude Test (ICAT), Amantha decided to get involved with the project to develop such a test as she agreed it was too easy for some candidates to lie about how creative they were on their application forms.

The head of the innovation team at Kimberly Clark approached Amantha after they were struggling to find truly creative and inventive people to work on developing new products and brands.

Although the test took almost three years to develop, it is now able to help companies identify 14 key traits that are fundamental to a creative mind and personality.

With the questions and answers based on the latest neuro-scientific and psychological research, candidates taking the test will find themselves having to respond to work place problems, while having areas such as they assertiveness and self-confidence also put to the test.

The ICAT is also able to predict other behavioural and character traits such as a candidate’s ability to adapt to new environments, ability to work within a team with other people and ability to think beyond the company ‘norms.’

Amantha now believes the test will be a welcome tool in the world of recruitment as more and more employers are looking for candidates that are inventive and creative in their thinking.
