Using Health Centre Services to Supplement NHS Care

February 24, 2012 by James Lewis

If you are suffering from a long-term health problem, which, using the NHS, you cannot get complete relief from. Visiting a private health clinic may be of great benefit to you.

The services that the National Health Service can offer are, to some extent, limited by the funds available. This means that the treatment they offer is not as extensive as it might be. You have to bear in mind that the care the NHS offers is designed primarily to save lives and treat serious or life threatening illnesses.

In many cases, they go much further and provide relief for chronic, but nonlife threatening health problems. However, more and more budgetary pressure means that they can offer less and less help for those suffering from chronic, but non life-threatening health problems.

What to Expect From Private Health Centres

Private health centres provide a range of treatment options. How many treatments they provide depends on the size of the clinic or centre and the skills of the doctors that work there.

Most health centres offer an array of physical therapy treatments. These include things like acupuncture, reflexology, osteopathy, aromatherapy massage and many other massage techniques. All of these treatments are designed to help relieve physical pain and health problems.

Some of the bigger and better private health centres also offer things like hypnotherapy, life coaching, NLP (neural linguistic programming) to help treat conditions that have an underlying mental health related cause.

You can also use the services of private health centres to help you to live a healthier life. For example, many centres run classes in nutrition, weight loss and physical exercise methods such as yoga or Pilates.

Larger clinics have a holistic approach to health and well-being. You can go to them to learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. However, should you later suffer from physical or mental ailments they have the facilities to help you recover. The internet is a great place to find clinics that are local to you. Online you can find out more about each clinic and the range of services that they offer.

Re Centre Health at Muirhead Roberts offer numerous services including physio London, sports physiotherapy and London Osteopathy.
