Tips for the Frequent Traveller

August 22, 2011 by Nick Bella

Whether you are someone who loves to see the world or whether your job makes national or global exploration a must, there are certain things that can make your life a great deal easier, and your time away a great deal less stressful.

Firstly, always buy annual insurance instead of single trip insurance. The savings can be huge if you plan to travel frequently and certain banks or credit card companies will actually offer annual travel insurance as an incentive to join – therefore, be sure to check on different offers before you buy.

Look at frequent flyer programs – even if you only use a certain airline once or twice a year, the amount of miles you can earn can add up extremely quickly and offer extremely high savings on flights further down the line.

At home, be sure your house is going to be safe. Overflowing mail boxes are a good indication to thieves that you are not at home and therefore having a suitable mail box is going to be integral. Whether you opt for a large external one or ensure that your mail box deposits letters in a place out of general view, a focus on mail boxes could save you from both property theft and identity theft.

Finally, keep yourself safe. Research your destinations and be sure you are well aware of all the dos and don’ts, talking the time to understand which areas will be safe and which won’t be. If you are a solo traveller then make sure you check in with people at home regularly, or at the very least keep a blog/update social networking sites. Either way, a sudden and unexpected change in your rate of contact could be the difference between safety and great danger.

And ultimately, whether it is for work or pleasure that you will be travelling so much, simply remember to enjoy every moment of it.
