Screen printing competition launched

December 30, 2010 by Mary Smith

A t-shirt printing shop has launched a new competition asking budding designers to come up with a new t-shirt design.
The Forty Five store in Plymouth specialises in clothing and t-shirt printing and has now joined forces with the University of Plymouth’s Designers Society to launch the new competition.
Students and all budding fashion designers are being asked to create a new t-shirt with the theme of nature versus technology.
The person who submits the winning t-shirt will then have the opportunity to see their design brought to life and sold in the store, which is based in Ebrington Street.
In addition to the privilege of seeing their designs sold in the store, the winner will also receive a number of free t-shirts with their winning design to give to their friends and family. More importantly, they will also receive a percentage of all the profits made from selling the designs in the store.
Co-owner of the store, Dave Holt has told the local media that he cannot wait to work with the winning designer.
He said: “This competition is designed specifically for local creative talented people that would not otherwise have the opportunity of getting their designs into a store.
“We are looking forward to working with the winners to get their designs on sale here in Forty Five.”
The store offers a wide range of printed t-shirts, clothing and accessories. Offering printed designs on hoodies, bags, underwear and bibs, the store can provide customised designs for people of all ages.
Likewise, the store is able to print designs for events such as birthday parties or hen parties.
Alongside the printed designs, the store also stocks a great range of clothing and accessories from renowned and up and coming designers. It has just recently started selling new dresses from brand, Emily and Fin that includes the Maggie dress and the Angel dress.
