Actor Kiefer Sutherland may have asked his girlfriend Siobhan Bonnouvrier for her hand in marriage, it has been suggested.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, she has been spotted with what looks like a diamond engagement ring on her finger.
The publication said: “During a meal out together in Portofino, Italy, Siobhan was flashing what looked like a diamond ring on her engagement finger.
“And the 43-year-old actor and his girlfriend of two years certainly looked happy and relaxed as they enjoyed their holiday together in the picturesque town.”
Also, at one point the couple were seen window shopping at a jewellers, perhaps looking for more diamonds.
Sutherland, who is best known for his role in hit Fox series 24, has two failed marriages behind him, so no doubt he will be hoping this relationship will last.
The son of Canadian actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, he has achieved considerable success and is both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe award winner.
Commenting on his current situation, the Daily Mail said: “Kiefer is certainly looking more relaxed these days after completing the final series of his TV hit 24, although a film version is planned.
“He is currently in the midst of shooting new film Melancholia with controversial director Lars von Trier.”
Meanwhile, Siobhan, who is a style director for Allure magazine, was also looking calm and content on the couple’s holiday.
Sutherland has one daughter named Sarah Jude, who is now 22 years old and was from his first marriage to Camelia Kath.
The celebrity was also once romantically linked to Julia Roberts, who he met while filming Flatliners. They later announced their engagement and planned to tie the knot in June 1991.
However, Roberts famously ended the engagement three days before the ceremony was due to take place.
