Save Money with the Best Retail Shop Insurance

November 15, 2011 by Gareth Hoyle

If you would like to make savings on your retail shop insurance I recommend looking online for a better deal.  I recently needed to renew my policies and started requesting quotes online to see if I could save some money.  I am finding that many of my customers are tightening their belts and so I need to do the same with my outgoings.

By switching to a cheaper retail shop insurance provider I am able to receive the same cover and also save a few pennies each month too. I am not prepared to risk not having any insurance as I have had a few problems in the past which resulted in me needing to make a claim or two. I am certain that I would not have been able to keep trading had it not been for the insurance I had.

Switch Providers and Save Money

I found a great company who were able to provide me with new premiums for both the building and the contents. I asked them for a quote and was surprised how much I would be saving by going with them instead of renewing with my old provider.

When it comes time to renew your policies remember to look online.  You can find some brilliant providers who offer retail shop insurance without scrimping on the level of cover or the customer service.

Choosing the correct shop insurance at the correct level can be a minefield of negotiation and estimating. If you make sure you’ve got all the information to hand, you can be more confident in the quotes you are collecting.

Cheap Professional Indemnity Insurance

November 13, 2011 by Gareth Hoyle

Every business attempts to everything it can to run a professional company, offering high quality services to its clients. However, mistakes can still be made and even unintentional ones can lead to ill feeling with clients and prospective clients alike. In these cases, it is possible that your company could face possible compensation claims. Anything from copyright infringement to misleading advertising can leave your company footing the bill. Cheap professional indemnity insurance could be enough to help ensure that you and your business is protected from this eventuality.

Cheap professional indemnity insurance can provide protection not only against the legal costs of potential court cases but also the compensation that you need to pay if you lose the court case. If you employ a team of professionals, then this coverage protects you against potential mistakes and decisions made by the whole of your team rather than you personally.

The length of cover is obviously important. Most policies will provide coverage while the insurance itself remains active but problems can arise several months or years after you have provided a particular service. You should ensure that your policy offers protection in these instances. Even if you retire, sell your company, or close your business there is the real possibility that you may still face possible legal action from customers, former customers, or third parties.

It isn’t just disgruntled clients that you need protection from. Copyright infringements and intellectual theft cases are becoming increasingly common and it is possible to stumble on these accidentally, especially if you operate within a busy industry where many companies offer similar products or services. It may be unintentional, but if there is found to be a breach of copyright then you are still liable to pay for this. Even if the courts find in your favour, your cheap professional indemnity insurance will cover the costs required during the case.

Cheap professional indemnity insurance doesn’t have to cost a small fortune and you can tailor a policy so that it meets your specific needs. This helps ensure that you pay for what you need without paying over the odds for extras that are not required.

Establishing the Need for Gas Detection Systems in your Workplace

September 7, 2011 by Nick Bella

Industrial workplaces are likely to come across one or more hazardous or toxic gases. Combustible gases such as methane are highly dangerous because they can cause large and fatal explosions when ignited if there is the right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it!) amount of oxygen present. In confined spaces it can also cause suffocation, as methane drives out oxygen. Other problem areas when working in industry are carbon monoxide (which poisons the cardiovascular system), hydrogen sulphide (attacking the central and nervous systems), oxygen deficiency or enrichment, the latter contributing to the methane explosions mentioned above.

Fixed and portable gas detection systems can monitor the amount of harmful gases in the area and alert employees when they need to get out or when systems and processes need to be shut down. A hazard assessment of your site or workplace can determine what gases may be present and so what kind of gas monitoring equipment or detectors are required. Different equipment works with different kinds of gases, and some gas monitoring equipment can detect more than one type of gas. A hazard assessment will also be able to advise on whether fixed or portable detection equipment is best, or a combination of both. As a general rule, fixed equipment is normally used for large, enclosed areas, and portable equipment is worn attached to clothing or a belt or harness for confined spaces, such as in mining. Mining will also require the use of detectors for combustible gas, while a toxic gas monitor would be used in a steel mill.

You must also consider the environment your equipment will be used in. If it is fixed outside, it will have to cope with harsh weather conditions. All equipment needs to be checked regularly and updated when necessary to always ensure optimum safety for your site and your employees.

Are you entitled to a compensation claim after an accident at work?

September 6, 2011 by Nick Bella

With over 70% of the UK population employed and working on business premises it would seem that accidents in the workplace are a common occurrence. However, this should not be taken for granted as there is now more of an impact from health and safety than ever before. A company’s premises must be checked frequently to make sure any workplace is safe and free from hazards to prevent accidents. Despite this, accidents are often unavoidable and can happen even in the safest of environments with no one person being held responsible. This is not always the case, as sometimes accidents and injury can occur due to negligence of health and safety concerns. This would usually mean the company is liable for responsibility and, as you are not to blame, you are entitled to a compensation claim. This is where a personal injury lawyer can come in very handy.

A personal injury lawyer, usually working for a compensation claim company, can take on your case and help you obtain the compensation you deserve. If the injury you have sustained has affected you either mentally or physically you should be rewarded with compensation. However, this amount typically depends on the extent of the negligence by the company and the seriousness of the injury. Many people are put off from making a compensation claim for the fear of incurring high solicitor fees. Most personal injury lawyers obtain their fee from the other side meaning that they typically work on a no win no fee basis. The longer you leave it before making a compensation claim could affect your chances of winning the case so it is advisable to hire a personal injury lawyer as soon as possible after the accident. They can provide you with confidential advice and have the potential to greatly improve the situation.

Why Choose a Foreign Exchange Broker?

August 24, 2011 by Nick Bella

There are several ways of sending money abroad. When dealing with significant amounts of cash, two of the most common ways are via your bank or via a specialist foreign exchange broker. There are lots of reasons why one might think that via your bank is the best way to go: for example, you may be very comfortable with your high street bank, or you may assume that their ubiquity guarantees the best exchange rates.

The fact is, however, the best way to transfer large amounts of cash abroad is not through your bank, instead it is through a specialist foreign exchange broker. So, next time you do need to transfer a large amount of cash overseas, don’t necessarily take the apparently easier option, and instead look into using a foreign exchange broker.

The key to getting the best value for your money transfer is to look for the best exchange rates. Don’t take our word for it, you can readily research the exchange rates of banks and foreign exchange brokers and get a grasp  of the differences. You will see time and time again that specialist brokers offer better exchange rates than banks.

The reason that they are able to do this is because they are specialist. Often, foreign exchange is the sum total of what the broker does day-to-day. Their professionals and advisors will, therefore, be highly experienced and extremely apt at identifying the most favourable exchange rates at a given time.
