3 Easy ways to get a new boiler installed

March 10, 2010 by Mary Smith Leave a Comment

Boilers are one of the most economical ways to generate electricity in residential properties. Though it is true that the initial cost of the installation can be high, homeowners do recoup the cost through the grant that the government has made available. They will also find that the amount of money they save on their heating bills will, in time, compensate for the initial cost of installing a boiler. Other advantages are that these homes that use boilers to supply their heating have more space available because the pipes take up less space. The properties also get more evenly distributed heat and the interior does not get as dry as it does with forced-air systems.

The good news is that the boiler scrappage scheme has been going well and that there is still much demand for new boilers.

How to get a new boiler installed

There are a few ways that you can get a new boiler installation: you could contact the manufacturer; you could contact a business that deals with central heating; or you could contact a company that makes it their business to install boilers effectively.

Which option you chose depends on you alone but it is important to note that each option has its advantages and disadvantages. The last option could work perfectly if you have neither the time nor the inclination to organise the entire installation – the company does all the work for you.

The other important thing to remember is not to attempt the installation yourself: this is not recommended and could get you into trouble. It’s best to have a registered person deal with the installation, especially if you buy from a manufacturer or business because it is only companies that deal with installation that do this automatically.

You need to ensure you’re dealing with someone who is indeed registered to install boilers. Check their qualifications; the person’s name and qualifications should be registered with Gas Safe. Keep a record of this person’s details so that you can get hold of them if you experience any problems with the boiler after the installation.
