Many people have attended events wearing fancy dress but the idea of adorning a vehicle with unusual items is something new.
Entrepreneur Wang Wei, who is 26 years old, thinks there is a market for this type of product and has begun producing items that can be used to jazz cars up, the Global Times reports.
Thanks to his offerings, those attending parties for which Halloween costumes are required – as well as other fancy dress events – may be able to ‘pimp their ride’ to fit the occasion.
Mr Wei’s original idea was targeted at wedding limousines. On this, he said: “I used ordinary materials in small experiments and after the idea took shape, I changed to silk fabrics and tapestry satin.”
The businessman, who moved from Liaoning to Beijing to pursue the project, revealed he decided to use magnets as an adhesive as these were the “cleanest” method of affixing items to vehicles.
He added: “I have got the license for that patent – using magnets to fix cars’ clothes.”
Coats he produces for vehicles are embellished with decorations and accessories, including ornamental license plates, door handles and lace trim.
Mr Wang drew up the designs for the products himself and a friend created computer-generated images of his creations.
In news which may be of relevance those seeking unusual Halloween costumes and other themed clothing, it currently takes him around a week to put together items for a car.
However, he plans to employ more staff and hopes the length of time it takes him to create the products will fall.
Fancy dress is growing in popularity among consumers across the world and events such as New Year’s Eve, stag and hen parties, birthday celebrations, Halloween and house parties are all occasions during which such clothing is common.
