The Striking Nissan Juke

February 18, 2012 by James Lewis

The first and most notable thing that most of us see when looking at the Nissan Juke is its unique styling. It is impossible to place the Juke in a category with other cars, at least when it comes to exterior design. Its uniqueness does mean that the Nissan Juke has split opinion right down the middle and while many love its quirky, even playful nature, there are those that find it considerably less appealing.

The interior of the Nissan Juke is good quality with a centre console that has been styled on a motorbike’s fuel tank and you can tell. The computer, which is found in all but the entry level models, is extremely useful and feature packed too, and it provides you with, among other features, an easy method to change the driving mode. You can choose between normal, economy, and sport depending on your driving preference and the conditions in which you’re driving.

The Nissan Juke is primarily a front wheel drive car, but you can also buy a better handling all wheel drive model. The advanced all wheel drive system uses multi-link rear suspension and torque vectoring traction control rather than the standard torsion beam system and it benefits for this choice. In front wheel drive you can choose from a range of models and engines. As well as the 1.6 litre petrol engine you can, instead, opt for the 1.5 litre diesel engine, which is many people’s preference.

Fuel economy is one reason why many people choose a crossover rather than a full SUV and while the Nissan Juke doesn’t enjoy quite the same exceptional levels as its big brother, the Nissan Qashqai, you can still expect to get 50mpg out of the diesel engine when driving it for everyday use which means it has more than respectable figures.

The Nissan Juke is a great quality, fun looking, and inexpensive crossover that makes a great addition to the Nissan line. It also makes a great addition to the family, providing a simple, convenient, comfortable, and fun way of getting around especially thanks to the choice of models, ranges, and engines.
