Water is very important for life. We need water to drink, to water plants etc. without water people and animals would go thirsty, plants would die. With today’s world being so polluted water is but obviously affected thus water hygieneisessential to human and other living things on earth. Thus people around the must be educated about water hygieneand to ensure this practices is done daily water source must be reliable both in quality and quantity throughout the year. Water hygiene can be taken care off through those processes used to make water more acceptable for usage called as water treatment. The aim of water treatment is to remove all existing contaminants in the water after which water becomes clean and can be used as drinking water, industrial processes, and many other uses.Waste water are treated through a physical process like settling or filtering, chemical processes such as disinfection and coagulation and biological process like slow sand filters or activated sludge. Another method to treat and purify water especially for drinking is through chlorination, a process of adding chlorine to water to make it fit for human consumption. Water in which chlorine has been added is very effective in preventing the spread of waterborne disease like bacteria and viruses in water. Chlorination is also used in swimming pools and for sewage treatment.
