Men’s appetite for fashion on the rise?

January 30, 2011 by Mary Smith

Whether they prefer to buy Firetrap clothing, Henri Lloyd products or any other brand of garments, men’s appetite for fashion appears to be on the rise.
Figures produced last month by discount and voucher code website MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk revealed that male fashion items were among the most desired Christmas gifts over the festive season.

Before the celebrations got underway, the website polled nearly 400 male consumers to ask what gifts they wanted and nearly two-thirds cited clothes.
In total, 62 per cent of respondents identified such products as their preferred choice, making them more popular than gadgets and other traditional favourites. The website decided to conduct the research after it noticed a large increase in clothing searches made on its male section.

After fashion items, electronic goods such as cameras and MP3s were the next most popular category of gifts, while video games, music, DVDs and hair and skincare products also featured high on the list.Meanwhile, the most popular garments among those surveyed were gilets, checked shirts, cardigans, quilted jackets and jumpers.

Responding to the findings, marketing director of MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk Andy Barr said: “We expected to see a rise in the last week of searches for gifts on our site, but the huge rise in numbers of searches for men’s clothing was unexpected. “As a result, we wanted to look into how many men really wanted clothing for Christmas and were surprised to see that it was the most popular item on the majority of men’s wish lists; beating electronics and video games to the mark.”

These days, there are many options when it comes to buying male fashion items. So, whether people want to get Henleys clothing, Duck and Cover products or anything else, they will not be stuck for choice.

Indeed, as well as sourcing items by visiting the high street, consumers can also get such offerings online.
