There are many good reasons to work from home and one of the most compelling is that it is very cheap. You do not need to worry about the costs of commuting, renting an office or uniforms. Instead, there is potentially nothing to punctuate your day other than the work itself.
Freedom
Working from home means that you also have the freedom and gratification of being your own boss, working hard only for yourself. You can take on more work if you want to and take a holiday whenever you choose. Working from home makes you feel more independent to make your own, grown up decisions. This is certainly a change from requiring approval from your boss every time you need to attend, for example, medical appointments.
