Getting a New Aerial

January 4, 2011 by Mary Smith

It can be very tempting to try and do the work yourself when it comes to new aerial installations. If your signal isn’t very strong or the picture keeps freezing there is a chance that you will need new digital TV aerials, especially for those who want to receive the right channels in the digital changeover.

If you are handy around the house, then you may decide that you don’t need an expert and instead just need a ladder and a few tools and you’ll be on your way. However, with aerial installations, if you want to ensure that you get the best picture and the full range of channels, there is a good chance that you’ll need to get it done professionally.

Talking to the experts will also help you understand which digital option is best for you. Different areas, even different estates within a town or city will have different signal strengths, whilst certain locations may have signal blocked by certain physical objects. Therefore whilst for one road Freeview may be perfect, for others it may be much more beneficial to go for Freesat to ensure clarity and choice.

Even with the right digital TV aerials, the installation can go wrong if you don’t know exactly where you need to point it, or how to hook it up for optimum impact.

So not only should you shy away from such operations yourself unless you happen to be a qualified expert, when looking for the right company to carry out the installation, you should check that they have both the knowledge and experience to get the job done right.

They should have knowledge of your area and also be able to discuss with you beforehand all your options and give advice on the best ones for you without bias.
