Teak Furniture Styles

December 29, 2010 by Mary Smith

Wooden garden furniture has become increasingly popular in recent years as more people want to make the most of the summer and the outdoor ambience connected to barbecues and celebrations.

Also, people who take pride in their garden and may have spent time and money lovingly planting flowers, shaping hedges, edging and cutting lawns and installing decking will naturally want to purchase some wooden garden furniture which complements the surroundings and enables them to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Teak garden furniture is ideal for outdoor use even in countries such as Great Britain because it is both stylish and functional as well as being tough enough to withstand the often harsh climate. Items such as garden tables in classic rectangular or circular shapes are perennially popular as well as matching chairs and side tables.

Sun-worshippers will also enjoy catching the rays on loungers made from teak with comfortable cushions attached. Coffee tables and table nests as well as benches are likely to form crucial parts of any teak garden furniture range. Most suppliers in the United Kingdom will make all of these items available in a variety of styles in order to meet the demands of a customer base with diverse tastes.

Styles which are traditional or rustic are always popular but more contemporary or modern styles will also usually be available. Teak is durable enough to make any sort of treatment unnecessary and looks beautiful in its natural shade and form but those who want to customise their wooden garden furniture further are able to stain, treat or paint their teak products themselves or to seek out pre-stained and pre-treated furniture.

Teak looks great when placed on decking and for example, a round teak table with parasol and matching chairs is the ideal arrangement for social occasion in the summer and perhaps with the addition of an outdoor heater, in the winter too.  Birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts will love to relax on garden furniture as they refer to their textbooks, note down the visitors from the animal kingdom and perhaps even make sketches or paintings.
