Holidaying on the Spanish Islands

If you live in the UK and have enjoyed holidays on mainland Spain you definitely should try visiting a few of the Spanish islands. These islands have the same great accommodation, warm welcome and virtually year round sunshine. However, they have a culture and character all of their own. The islands may be Spanish, but they have developed their own traditions over the centuries.

Getting There is Easy

Of all the Spanish islands Menorca and Tenerife are amongst the most popular. There are plenty of cheap flights to Tenerife and Menorca available from UK travel firms like jet2.com. It is particularly easy to find and book a flight with them because they fly to both destinations out of several UK airports.

Both destinations are warm the year round. They offer a range of accommodation including self-catering apartments, resort hotels and luxury accommodation. The tourism industry on both islands has been established for over fifty years, so there is plenty for tourists to do and see on both islands.

If You Prefer Mainland Spain

If, however, you prefer to holiday on mainland Spain consider flying into Alicante. From there you can easily get to some of Spain’s most popular holiday resorts including Benidorm. However, if beach holidays are not for you it is possible to find good quality holiday villas in the mountains behind Alicante and further afield. In these places, you can experience the real Spain.
