Condom dispensers at the bar

August 11, 2011 by Nick Bella

Most independent pub and bar owners are up against tight margins, and it can be tempting- especially in these trying financial times- to skimp on the details. What this means when it comes to condom vending is that management either doesn’t bother to purchase a machine at all, or that it goes for the cheapest one available without giving it too much thought. After all, it isn’t the responsibility of the local bar to worry about safe sex and the wellbeing of its customers… right?

Wrong. There are several convincing reasons why an independent bar or pub needs to spend a little time choosing the right bathroom condom dispensers for their customers… not least that they are a reliable supplementary source of income. It is not enough just to buy condom vending machines, they need to be discreet, easy to use, and stocked with familiar and trusted brands. Customers tend to be brand loyal to certain manufacturers, and are very unlikely to choose to buy a brand with which they are not familiar. Not only does the right machine enhance the look of your bathroom and tell the customer that you take an interest in their wellbeing, it is also much more likely to get frequent use, and that is money in your pocket.

Encouraging your customers to use protection by installing discreet, efficient machines with brands they trust isn’t only good for them and their intended partners… it’s also good for your small business. Think about it: how often do you think you’d see your regulars, male or female, if they had a baby on the way? So it’s a win-win situation: to look after your customers, look after your bottom line, choose the right retailer and the right machine.

Which Flooring for Children

August 11, 2011 by Nick Bella 1 Comment

When you have children, very simple additions to a home can make a very big difference. From the colours of the walls to the floors that you choose, simple changes can make it far easier to keep your house looking great, no matter what your little monsters get up to.

Whilst it may be easy to decide things such as colour scheme (darker the better if you want to be able to easily hide stains for example), and even how you arrange your back garden, choosing flooring can be harder to judge.

After all, carpets can easily fray, lino will very easily rip and wood floors will dent if too much pressure is put on one place. However, unless your little one happens to be yielding a hammer, the chances are that those wood floors are likely to be the most durable and therefore the safest bet.

Not only are carpets likely to look worn and tired very quickly with young children playing on them all day, but they are also likely to trap dust and dirt, something that will happen far quicker when you have kids and could lead to the carpets being ruined surprisingly quickly. On top of this, the same dust and dirt can then lead to health problems for your child as time goes on.

Hardwood flooring remains by far the most attractive choice for almost any room. On top of this, it is easy to keep clean, easy to maintain and will take a great deal of battering before it starts to show any wear. Even then, such flooring can usually be replaced in sections, meaning that any damage that does occur is likely to be far cheaper to sort out.

So if you want floors that look great and can stand the workout your children are likely to give it, hardwood flooring is likely to be the best choice all round.

What to Look for in Shelving

August 11, 2011 by Nick Bella

When it comes to buying shelving storage, there are many different things that will make certain solutions more appealing than others.

Price, for instance, is going to be very important, although it is wise to remember that value for money is going to be far more important than simply something being cheap. Then of course ,there are the aesthetics, as in the majority of occasions you are not going to want to buy something that looks particularly ugly or seems incongruous in the setting within which you are utilising it. And of course there is practicality; being able to ensure you have something that can hold not only the volume but also the weight of the items you need it to hold is going to be integral.

So, what, if anything, is going to be the most important? Well, price is important, but it is important that you simply satisfy the other criteria first and then make sure you search for the cheapest option within the remit of what you need. For those who simply need something to store or display a few light items, then there will be many bargain shelving systems available that offer everything you need at a very low price.

However, for the majority of people it is worth searching online on sites dedicated to shelving storage. In the process, there will be a far wider range of solutions available that will help you balance the need to store items efficiently and effectively, with the need to get something that isn’t offensive to your eyes. In the process, such shelving systems will also undoubtedly end up being more cost-effective simply because the companies will be dealing in far higher quantities, as well as having lower overheads than those offering generic units on the high street.

So, when looking for the right units, the best thing to look for is actually the right company as they will be able to help you find exactly what you need.

Shelving or Racking?

August 10, 2011 by Nick Bella

There may seem to be very little difference between racking and shelving, but there is actually a very important distinction between the two. The latter is simply a way of storing simple items to be attractively displayed or easily found. The former, however, is far more focussed on specifics.

Think of the word ‘rack’ itself. From wine rack to CD rack, a rack is very specific about what it holds and the way in which it holds it. Therefore, shelf racks are also going to be extremely focussed on exactly what they are doing.

There are likely to be many different types of storage racks, each specifically designed to do a certain job. However, paradoxically, there are also going to be more generic racks, but this doesn’t mean that these too don’t have specific purposes.

The majority of more general rack solutions are going to include heavy duty shelves, perfect for any industry that needs to store large or heavy items in an effective and safe manner. Whilst normal shelving is likely to be used for smaller and lighter items, heavy duty options will give you all the space you need without you having to worry about safety.

Therefore, knowing whether you need some form of heavy duty racks or just simple shelving can become fairly obvious. If you have something specific you need to store, there is a good chance you can find a rack designed perfectly for this function. However, if you just need to store numerous larger and heavier items, a more general heavy duty rack might be the answer.

So, unless you have small and light objects to store or display, always look for which racks are likely to be perfect for you. You might also be surprised at just how cheap getting specific can be.

Does Your Business Need More Space?

August 9, 2011 by Nick Bella

If your business is suffering from a severe lack of space there are many options you have. Firstly, you can simply let boxes sit idly in corners and allow staff to regularly fall over the excess junk you are stockpiling or, secondly, you can look to increase the amount of space you have available to you.

Whilst a good clean out can often get rid of a good deal of excess items that are no longer needed, more often than not extra space is likely to be needed – if not immediately, then at least in the near future. However, creating extra space can be done in different ways, and finding the right one can be extremely important if you wish to be as cost-effective as possible.

The first thought to strike many companies will be to either extend current buildings or to move to bigger buildings. However, both will undoubtedly be costly and it is not just creating such extra space that will be expensive, but also the overheads involved in running a larger building and moving items to new premises.

Instead, for those looking for extra storage Cardiff and the surrounding areas, it may well be best to look at the options for self storage Cardiff companies can offer. Whilst warehousing offers you the ability to store excess products at busier periods, the self storage Cardiff companies can offer will bring far more flexibility, allowing you not only to store excess products at busier times, but also allowing you to store everything from paperwork to important company assets in a safe yet accessible way.

So if you want the most flexibility in terms of storage Cardiff can offer many solutions, but few will be as easy and as cost-effective as simply purchasing your own self storage space from a dedicated company.
